The Wine Group is America's second-largest wine company by volume, producing value-oriented wines across multiple brands including Franzia (the world's best-selling wine brand), Cupcake Vineyards, Chloe, Benziger, and Imagery. Originally a division of Coca-Cola, it became an employee-owned company in 1981 before being acquired by private equity firm Oaktree Capital Management in 2007. The company exports several brands to Australia, particularly its boxed wines and mid-range varietals.
